Agent Pini Zahavi revealed that Robert Lewandowski rejected a two-year, 200 million euro offer from Saudi Arabia in January 2026. The 37-year-old striker instead chose to stay at Barcelona, where he won a second consecutive Spanish championship, before moving to Chicago Fire in the MLS on a one-year deal worth up to 17.5 million euros. Zahavi also noted interest from FC Porto and top Italian clubs like Milan and Juventus, but Lewandowski was not interested in those moves. The Saudi offer was motivated by lifestyle factors like time zone proximity to Poland, but Lewandowski prioritized his commitment to Barcelona.

Just weeks ago, agent Pini Zahavi (83) secured Robert Lewandowski's (37) move to Chicago Fire in the MLS. The Polish striker signed an initial one-year deal with the Illinois club, earning up to €17.5 million.
Yet the former Bayern Munich star could have earned significantly more. In an interview with Polish portal "WP SportoweFakty," Zahavi discussed interest in his client and revealed that Lewandowski turned down a mega offer last January.
Lewandowski Considered Barcelona Exit in Winter
According to Zahavi, Lewandowski was already weighing a departure from Barcelona during the winter transfer window. The USA and Saudi Arabia emerged as potential destinations. Ultimately, the Saudis submitted an XXL offer.
The €200 Million Offer
"Robert wanted to play in Saudi Arabia. Mainly because of the comfort of life: the small time difference between Riyadh and Warsaw, the shorter distance to Poland than from the USA. We also knew that huge money was waiting for us there. After all, in January 2026, a two-year offer of €100 million per season for Robert was on the table!"

Lewandowski's Priority Remained Barcelona
Despite the staggering offer, Lewandowski still wanted to play for Barcelona. With Barça, he won the Spanish championship for the second consecutive season, scoring five league goals in the second half of the campaign.
Interest from European Clubs
Beyond Saudi Arabia, clubs from Europe also pursued Lewandowski:
- FC Porto: Zahavi stated, "They really wanted him and tried to convince him until the very end. But Lewy was not interested in Porto."
- Italian clubs: Zahavi held talks with top Serie A sides. "I met with leading representatives of Milan and also spoke with the general director of Juventus, Damien Comolli, because for both clubs a transfer of Robert would have been something great, but honestly, Lewandowski was unattainable for them. Serie A is no longer the richest league in the world; the situation there is currently very difficult."
