SportsFrench media Foot Mercato reports that Bayer Leverkusen has added Marseille's Argentine defender Facundo Medina to their transfer shortlist. The Bundesliga club is in talks with Marseille, though the Ligue 1 side is reluctant to sell. Medina, 25, joined Marseille last summer from Lens for €18 million after an initial loan with a buy option. He made 26 appearances last season and was part of Argentina's World Cup-winning squad. Marseille coach Bruno Génésio still counts on Medina, who is expected to return to training on August 12 after post-World Cup leave. River Plate has also shown interest. Medina's contract runs until 2030, and he faces a decision between staying at Marseille or moving to Germany.
