Bayer Leverkusen interested in Argentine defender Facundo Medina; Marseille reluctant to sell

French media Foot Mercato reports that Bayer Leverkusen has added Marseille's Argentine defender Facundo Medina to their transfer shortlist. The Bundesliga club is in talks with Marseille, though the Ligue 1 side is reluctant to sell. Medina, 25, joined Marseille last summer from Lens for €18 million after an initial loan with a buy option. He made 26 appearances last season and was part of Argentina's World Cup-winning squad. Marseille coach Bruno Génésio still counts on Medina, who is expected to return to training on August 12 after post-World Cup leave. River Plate has also shown interest. Medina's contract runs until 2030, and he faces a decision between staying at Marseille or moving to Germany.
