Bayern Munich begins summer training camp at Lake Tegernsee

HUPU July 28 — According to Bild reporting from the scene, the first batch of Bayern Munich players arrived at Tegernsee on the team bus from Munich at 12:44 PM on Monday, officially commencing the training camp scheduled from July 27 to 30. Only six professional players were in this initial group.

New Hotel for the Record Champions

Bayern had previously stayed at the "Hotel am See" on four occasions — in 2018, 2019, 2023, and 2024. This year, the German record champions are staying at the "Gut Eggen" hotel for the first time as their team accommodation.

To allow the Bayern bus to park in front of this five-star hotel, half of the road was closed off on site, and temporary traffic lights were installed.

The "Gut Eggen" hotel is owned by the Ehrmann family, which runs the dairy company and is also a sponsor of Bayern's women's team. Michelin-starred chef Thomas Kellermann is in charge of catering at the hotel.

Since the entrance in front of the hotel could not accommodate the team bus, a company closed the lane of Mahle-Winkel towards the lake shore on Monday morning and set up a parking area for the bus there. Other vehicles had to take turns using the other lane and wait at the temporary traffic lights.

Arrival in Heavy Rain

About an hour after departing from Säbener Straße, the first Bayern players got off the bus in pouring rain and entered the new team hotel.

Despite the bad weather, 21-year-old midfield talent Tom Bischof and 37-year-old backup goalkeeper Sven Ulreich took time to take photos and sign autographs for the 30 fans waiting on site.

20-year-old Arijon Ibrahimović, returning from a loan at Heidenheim, was also among the first professional players to arrive.

Three Players Who May Leave the Club Arrived with the Team

31-year-old João Palhinha walked into the luxury hotel with a serious expression. He was previously loaned to Tottenham Hotspur, and Bayern hopes to sell him, but he has just stated that he does not necessarily have to leave Munich.

Bayern's Training Schedule at Tegernsee

40-year-old head coach Vincent Kompany, who led Bayern to the double, scheduled two closed training sessions and three open training sessions at the Birkenmoos stadium.

Training sessions open to fans also include sessions at 3:30 PM on Tuesday and 10:00 AM on Wednesday.

On Thursday at 6:00 PM, Bayern will also play a friendly match against regional league team Rottach-Egern.

Kompany, the coaching staff, and team staff had already attended a secret barbecue gathering on the rooftop terrace of the popular hotel "Bussi Baby" on Sunday evening to motivate for the new season.

After completing fitness tests on Monday and Tuesday morning, the first players who participated in the World Cup will arrive at Tegernsee on Tuesday noon, including 40-year-old German international Manuel Neuer and 31-year-old Joshua Kimmich.
