Earlier this month, Bonnie Tyler passed away at age 75, just over a month after celebrating that milestone birthday. The Welsh singer began releasing albums in the late 1970s and remained active for decades, most recently issuing The Best Is Yet to Come roughly five years ago. She is best remembered, however, for her iconic 1980s output.

Tyler's rock-leaning hits — including "Total Eclipse of the Heart," "Holding Out for a Hero," and several other smashes — helped define the sound of that decade. That era of her catalog continues to perform well on the Billboard charts, weeks after fans around the world began mourning her death.

This week, three of the musician's most famous songs rise to new peaks on every Billboard-published ranking on which they appear, and one nearly becomes a posthumous No. 1.

Bonnie Tyler Nearly Reaches No. 1

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" pushes from No. 5 to a new high of No. 2 on the Digital Song Sales chart, which tracks the bestselling individual downloads in the United States through platforms like iTunes. The classic comes within one spot of giving Tyler her first No. 1 on the tally — but it is blocked by the biggest hit of the year.

Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" Holds the Top Spot

"Choosin' Texas" by Ella Langley refuses to step aside on this week's Digital Song Sales chart. The country smash holds at the summit for a thirteenth week — one-third of the entirety of its 39-frame run.

With 13 weeks in charge, "Choosin' Texas" ties three other tracks for the sixth-longest reign in the history of the Digital Song Sales chart:

• "Low" by Flo Rida and T-Pain
• "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars
• "Closer" by The Chainsmokers and Halsey

It may very well hold that spot when the roster refreshes again.

Ella Langley Easily Outsells Bonnie Tyler

"Choosin' Texas" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" may sit beside one another at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, but the sales race between the two songs was not especially close. According to Luminate:

• Langley's champion sold 7,300 copies during the tracking period.
• Tyler's runner-up moved just under 3,300 copies — less than half the total earned by the country hit.

Bonnie Tyler Claims Three Top 10 Bestsellers

Tyler fills three spaces on the Digital Song Sales chart this week, and all of her current hits establish new peaks. While "Total Eclipse of the Heart" nearly rules, two other songs break into the top 10 for the first time:

• "Holding Out for a Hero" advances from No. 11 to No. 4
• "It's a Heartache" jumps from No. 12 to No. 7

Both songs debuted on the ranking only one week ago. In their second turns on the roster, they become Tyler's second and third top 10 bestsellers.

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" Leads Bonnie Tyler's Wins

"Total Eclipse of the Heart" first reached the Digital Song Sales chart in September 2017, when it became a bestseller in America again. The song has returned to prominence whenever an eclipse has inspired renewed interest — and it may always do so.

The smash has now racked up a total of four weeks on the purchase-focused ranking. That is exactly equal to the combined runs of "Holding Out for a Hero" and "It's a Heartache," which have each spent two stints on the list.

Bonnie Tyler Reaches New Peaks on the Global Charts

Of Tyler's three current Digital Song Sales hits, only "Total Eclipse of the Heart" appears on any additional Billboard rankings this week. The power ballad rises dramatically on both of the company's worldwide songs tallies after debuting on the pair only one frame ago:

• Billboard Global 200: rockets from No. 133 to a new peak of No. 51
• Billboard Global Excl. U.S.: surges from No. 100 to No. 34
