TechSouth Korea's SK Group and Nvidia have announced a partnership worth over $500 billion to build AI infrastructure, including AI factories and next-generation AI memory. The agreement, formalized through letters of intent, includes SK Telecom building a 2GW AI cloud in South Korea using Nvidia's DSX platform and Vera Rubin technology with SK hynix HBM4 memory, with the first facility starting operations in 2027. SK hynix has also entered a long-term partnership with Nvidia for high-bandwidth memory supply and joint optimization. SK Group chairman Chey Tae-won stated the goal is to make Korea a global AI innovation hub, while Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted South Korea's potential as an AI powerhouse. In a separate development, Naver, Nvidia, and Brookfield announced an expansion of South Korea's national AI factory infrastructure to 200MW, with Nvidia investing $1 billion into Naver and Brookfield providing up to $9 billion in financing.
