Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego, a prominent Bitcoin advocate, has doubled down on his cryptocurrency bet by participating as an anchor investor in Orange Juice Holdings, a Connecticut-based permanent capital company that acquires American businesses while pursuing a Bitcoin treasury strategy. The company announced a $40 million capital raise on July 15, 2026. Salinas, who has allocated 80% of his liquid portfolio to Bitcoin, stated that the world wants an alternative to traditional private equity built on solid money rather than fiat currency. He reported that within a week, hundreds of potential investors and business owners reached out. Bitcoin was trading at $64,823 at the time of writing. Salinas is a strong critic of fiat currency and views Bitcoin as a hedge against currency devaluation due to its limited supply of 21 million coins.

Salinas Highlights Investor Interest in ORANGE JUICE
On July 22, the billionaire said that within a week of the company securing $40 million in a raise led by him, "hundreds" of potential investors, business owners, and operators have reached out.
"The world wants an alternative to traditional private equity: solid capital, built on solid money—not government-controlled FIAT garbage."
A vocal critic of fiat currency, Salinas promotes Bitcoin as the ultimate hedge against currency devaluation. He argues that fiat currency can always be printed and therefore risks losing value, while Bitcoin has a limited supply of 21 million coins and can hold its value.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $64,823, according to Decibel.
