SportsFenway Sports Group (FSG) is in preliminary talks with a consortium led by Amit Bhatia, former QPR co-owner and son-in-law of steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal, to sell a significant minority stake in Liverpool FC. The provisional offer is reportedly £1.35 billion for about 30% of the club, valuing Liverpool at approximately £4.5 billion. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos has also been approached about joining the consortium but remains undecided. FSG, which bought Liverpool for £300 million in 2010, sees the potential deal as a way to inject fresh capital to remain competitive with state-backed rivals, not as an exit strategy. The talks are at a preliminary stage and are not expected to affect the club's summer transfer plans. FSG has previously sold minority stakes to RedBird Capital and Dynasty Equity.
