SportsVillarreal is on the verge of signing Hungarian international goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi, according to market expert Fabrizio Romano. The 36-year-old, who has 58 caps for Hungary, would replace the likely departure of Arnau Tenas and join Luiz Junior in Villarreal's goalkeeping squad. Gulacsi has spent the last 11 seasons at RB Leipzig, playing in the Bundesliga, Champions League, and Europa League, and winning the German Cup in 2021-22. He previously won two league titles and two cups with Red Bull Salzburg and was at Liverpool without making a Premier League debut. Villarreal began preseason with three goalkeepers; Diego Conde has already left on loan to Betis, and Tenas was left out of the first friendly against Benfica. Gulacsi's arrival would fill the gap in the squad.
