Telangana BJP chief warns Congress against backing anti-national forces

State BJP president N. Ramchander Rao on Thursday warned Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Congress leaders against supporting what he termed “anti-national forces” and organisations allegedly funded by foreign sources.

Addressing a press conference at the party’s State office, Mr. Rao claimed that India’s youth would not remain “silent spectators” if attempts were made to replicate developments witnessed in Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Instead, he said, they would actively contribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of building a “New India”.

The BJP leader accused the Congress, Left parties and certain “foreign subversive forces” of conspiring to undermine the Narendra Modi-led NDA government by instigating unrest among the youth. He alleged that certain “ultra-Left” and “soft-Left” groups, along with leaders associated with organisations such as:

• Students’ Federation of India (SFI)
• All India Students’ Federation (AISF)
• Ambedkar Students’ Association (ASA)

...were forming new platforms, including one called the “Cockroach Janata Party”, to foment unrest and violence similar to situations witnessed in neighbouring countries.

Mr. Rao further alleged that organisations behind events held in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad and at Jantar Mantar in Delhi had received ₹10 crore from Khalistani groups, besides financial and strategic support from entities based in Qatar, Canada, Pakistan and Bangladesh. It was “shameful” that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had aligned himself with Khalistani forces responsible for the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, he said.

Mr. Rao claimed the NDA government acted swiftly in the NEET leak case by arresting 31 people and conducting a re-examination to ensure justice for students. He said the National Testing Agency (NTA) was being strengthened and reforms were being implemented under the leadership of a committee headed by Professor K. Radhakrishnan.

He criticised Opposition parties for demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, claiming that more than 53 major examinations had witnessed paper leaks during the UPA regime.

Earlier, Mr. Rao, along with BJP Legislature Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy and other leaders, launched a Statewide BJYM campaign demanding the release of fee reimbursement arrears.
