SportsAmazon founder Jeff Bezos has held talks about joining a consortium led by former Queens Park Rangers co-owner Amit Bhatia to buy approximately 30% of Liverpool Football Club from Fenway Sports Group (FSG). The consortium has made a provisional offer of £1.35bn, valuing the club at around £4.5bn. Bezos, the fourth-richest person globally with a $257bn fortune, has previously explored buying NFL franchises but never invested in the Premier League. Bhatia has secured financial backing from his father-in-law, steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal. FSG confirmed the talks, noting Bhatia's consortium expressed interest in a strategic minority investment. Bezos would receive equity in Liverpool under any deal. The move aligns with Amazon's diversification into sports rights, having held Premier League and Champions League broadcasting deals.
