MANCHING, Germany — Boeing has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HENSOLDT, bringing the German sensor specialist into its MQ-28 Ghost Bat industry team.
"With HENSOLDT, we are bringing another strong German industrial partner on board our MQ-28 Ghost Bat industry team," said Dr. Michael Haidinger, President of Boeing Germany. "HENSOLDT's expertise in sensor technology and mission system integration significantly strengthens our team to offer the Air Force an integrated, sovereign, and Germany-based solution."
HENSOLDT's Role
Under the agreement, HENSOLDT will provide:
- Mission-critical sensor systems
- Mission system components
- Integration services
Building on decades of experience in maintenance and in-service support, HENSOLDT—subject to a selection decision by the Bundeswehr—will help ensure the operational readiness of the MQ-28 Ghost Bat within the German defense ecosystem.

The MoU underscores the commitment of the Boeing-led industry team to provide the Air Force with the MQ-28 Ghost Bat featuring integrated German key technologies. Together with Rheinmetall, Diehl Defence, Rohde & Schwarz, and HENSOLDT, the team will integrate German technologies, industrial capacities, and support services to deliver a locally supported Collaborative Combat Aircraft to the German Air Force.
