Israeli strikes kill 11 in Gaza, including three children

Since the beginning of the so-called ceasefire in autumn 2025, more than 1,100 people have been killed in Gaza. The victims are said to include three children.

afp — According to official figures, 11 people were killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Saturday, including three children and their parents. The civil defense and hospitals, controlled by the radical Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas, gave this death toll on Sunday; previously, 10 deaths had been reported.

According to reports, five members of a family were killed in an airstrike on their apartment in the northwest of Gaza City. Another child of the family was the sole survivor because they were not in the apartment at the time of the attack. The Shifa Hospital confirmed the receipt of the five bodies.

The Israeli army stated that in the attack in Gaza City, it had "targeted a Hamas terrorist." The results of the operation are still being reviewed.

A resident told the AFP news agency that the attack occurred without warning. "Suddenly a rocket hit the building. No one knew anything, no warning, nothing," said Mussa al-Aimawi. Another resident reported bodies lying on the ground, including women and children.

Missing, Dead, and Injured

AFP footage showed large parts of the facade of the hit building that had been torn out by the attack. Rescue workers tended to the injured while residents searched for belongings among concrete rubble and twisted metal.

According to the civil defense, three more people were killed in an Israeli airstrike on a group of civilians in the Sejtun district. The Shifa Hospital also confirmed the receipt of these bodies.

A few hours later, according to civil defense reports, a woman was killed by Israeli artillery fire on a tent for displaced persons east of Sejtun. Several people were reportedly injured, including the woman's daughter. Three people were initially listed as missing. The Ahli Hospital confirmed the woman's death and the admission of several injured people.

Health officials reported two more deaths from Israeli attacks in other locations in the Gaza Strip. The Israeli army initially did not comment on these attacks.

Already on Friday, according to the Hamas civil defense, eight people were killed in an Israeli airstrike near a market in the center of the Gaza Strip.

A fragile ceasefire has been in effect in the Palestinian territory since October 10, 2025. However, both sides accuse each other of violations almost daily. Before the latest attacks, according to figures from the Hamas-controlled Health Ministry, which cannot be independently verified, at least 1,144 Palestinians had been killed since the start of the ceasefire.
