Canada Awards Babcock $1.1B Extension for Victoria-class Submarine Support

Canada has awarded Babcock a $1.1 billion, six-year extension for the Victoria In-Service Support Contract (VISSC) to sustain the Royal Canadian Navy's Victoria-class submarine fleet. The contract, announced on July 20, 2026, includes potential extension to the fleet's end of life, ensuring uninterrupted service as Canada transitions to new submarines. Babcock has been Canada's submarine sustainment partner for over 18 years, contributing over $3.2 billion in GDP impact since 2008, maintaining more than 1,500 jobs annually, and building a supply chain with over 450 suppliers. Babcock Canada CEO Tony March expressed pride in supporting the Royal Canadian Navy and noted the contract will enable a smooth transition to Canada's future submarine capability under the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). The Victoria-class submarines will also be modernized with new optronic masts.
