SportsLeeds United has officially announced the signing of Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo for an estimated €40 million. The 23-year-old, who has 17 caps for Bosnia and Herzegovina, impressed in Serie A last season with 32 appearances and was a standout at the 2026 World Cup, where his team reached the round of 16. Muharemovic inadvertently drew attention during the tournament by drawing the foul that led to Folarin Balogun's red card, which was later overturned. He has signed a five-year contract with Leeds. Muharemovic had only spent one season at Sassuolo after joining from Juventus, where he never played for the first team.
