Gladys Anand Kumar Hubballi, a 39-year-old resident of Basel Mission Compound in Betgeri, Gadag district, died in a road accident in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Tuesday last.
According to family sources who spoke to the Gadag Police, she was on her way to report for duty at a hospital when she was run over by an unidentified vehicle.
Social activists of Indian origin are working to coordinate with various government agencies to facilitate the repatriation of her remains.
The family remains in contact with the police as well as Riyadh-based activists, including Hamid Padubidri, Shareef Karkala, Santosh Shetty, Shihab Kottukad, and others, the sources said.
The nurse had moved to Saudi Arabia three years ago. Her husband, Anand Kumar, works at a private workshop. The couple have three children, the police confirmed.
