Karim Adeyemi's transfer from Borussia Dortmund to FC Barcelona is complete in principle but not yet officially announced. The 24-year-old forward has passed his medical and agreed to a contract until 2031. The delay is because Barcelona President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco are still in the United States attending the World Cup final and will not return to Barcelona until early next week. The official announcement is expected no earlier than Tuesday. Dortmund coach Niko Kovac confirmed the departure, noting the team will miss Adeyemi's speed. The transfer fee is €22 million fixed, with up to €9 million in bonuses and a sell-on clause for Dortmund.

Barcelona – Everything is essentially in place, yet the official announcement remains pending. Karim Adeyemi (24) has already successfully completed his medical examination at FC Barcelona, and a contract until 2031 is ready to be signed. Nevertheless, the transfer of the Borussia Dortmund star has not yet been made official.
Barça bosses still at the World Cup final
According to BILD information, the delay lies with the Catalan club's leadership – and the ongoing World Cup in the United States.
Barça President Joan Laporta and Sporting Director Deco are currently still in the USA and are not expected to return to Barcelona until early next week. Only then are the final formalities expected to be completed and the transfer officially announced. As a result, an announcement is not anticipated before Tuesday.

Kovac confirms departure
That no one at BVB seriously doubts the transfer anymore was made publicly clear for the first time by coach Niko Kovac (54) after the 3-1 test match victory against Rot-Weiß Oberhausen.
The coach said: "We said goodbye to him. When Karim was back in the locker room, we all said goodbye and also had a little chat. We really wish him all the best when it works out – but we assume it will."
Kovac has also already adjusted to the departure of his offensive star in sporting terms. Above all, he noted that Adeyemi's enormous speed will be missed by Dortmund: "What we will certainly lose is the speed."
