GABLER and FLANQ complete Sea Acceptance Test for torpedo-tube-launched USV Ranger

German submarine systems provider GABLER and defense technology firm FLANQ have successfully completed the Sea Acceptance Test (SAT) for their Torpedo-Tube-Launched Uncrewed Surface Vessel (TTL USV) capability demonstrator, named Ranger. The test, conducted in June, confirmed the seaworthiness of the 4.5-meter vehicle, which is designed to launch from a standard 21-inch submarine torpedo tube. Ranger can autonomously surface and conduct covert intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. It features a folding keel and sensor mast, an electric drivetrain, and a mission-configurable payload bay. The SAT marks the end of the proof-of-concept phase, advancing the project toward operational deployment. GABLER oversees commercialization and integration, while FLANQ contributes AI-enabled autonomy and mission software. The partners are also developing a one-way-attack variant called Strike.
