Saab wins SEK 8.7 bln order to equip German Navy's F128 frigates with combat systems

Saab has signed a contract with German naval defense company TKMS to deliver and integrate combat systems, composite structures, and sensors onto four of the German Navy's new MEKO A-200 DEU class frigates (F128). The order is valued at approximately SEK 8.7 billion, with deliveries scheduled between 2029 and 2032. The frigates will be built in Germany with TKMS as the prime contractor. The contract includes an option for additional frigates. Saab will provide composite superstructures, 9LV Combat Systems (including Fire Control and Combat Management Systems), long-range surveillance radar Sea Giraffe 4A Fixed Face, lightweight multi-mission radar Sea Giraffe 1X, and passive sensors. Saab's CEO stated the deliveries will significantly enhance the German Navy's anti-air, anti-submarine, and anti-surface warfare capabilities.
