Prosperity Partners, a Chicago-based tax, client accounting and transaction support services firm, has secured a majority growth investment from private equity firm Lightyear Capital. Prosperity Partners, a Chicago-based provider of tax, client accounting, and transaction support services, has secured a "majority growth investment" from private equity firm Lightyear Capital.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
Following completion, Unity Partners—which invested in Prosperity in April 2023—will retain a minority stake in the business.

Employee Ownership Programme
At the time of Unity's initial investment, Prosperity introduced an Employee Purpose Plan. The company stated that this employee ownership programme will distribute approximately $18 million in proceeds across its employee base.
Lightyear and Prosperity have also agreed to continue an employee ownership programme for qualifying employees.
