Wistron Opens $700 Million Texas Plant to Manufacture Nvidia AI Superchips
Taiwan-based electronics manufacturer Wistron has opened its first U.S. manufacturing plant in Fort Worth, Texas, a $700 million facility dedicated to producing Nvidia 'superchips' for artificial intelligence systems. The 324,000-acre plant will serve as a key hub in Wistron's global AI infrastructure network, assembling and testing Nvidia's GB300 Grace Blackwell Ultra Superchip and soon the Vera Rubin Superchip. The facility has already created 500 jobs, with plans to expand to 1,000 by year-end. It runs on Nvidia accelerated computing and integrates digital twin technology to optimize production. Wistron Chairman Simon Lin and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang highlighted the plant's role in U.S. reindustrialization and AI infrastructure development. The partnership is part of broader Nvidia efforts to expand AI manufacturing, including collaborations with ABB Robotics.
