VTU and Google Sign Academic Agreement for AI Skills and Placements
Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google to provide engineering students with training in Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, data science, and cybersecurity. The agreement, signed in Bengaluru on July 21, 2026, aims to align student skills with industry requirements and improve employment opportunities. VTU Vice-Chancellor S. Vidyashankar noted that the university has 220 engineering colleges with 300,000 students. Google for Education India Head Sanjay Jain said the program will train both students and faculty based on National and State Education Policies. Similar agreements were also signed with Qualcomm (for Edge AI Centre of Excellence), Bharat Skills Institute Foundation, and SEEL Company. The SEEL platform will provide cloud-based lab access, GATE preparation materials, AI-powered mock interviews, and over 1,900 industrial projects and internships.
