Ultra Maritime and Anduril Track UUV Threats at US Navy Lanternfish Exercise
Ultra Maritime and Anduril successfully demonstrated their counter-unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) capabilities during the U.S. Navy's 2026 Lanternfish exercise. The demonstration showcased Ultra's Sea Spear deployable sonar integrated with Anduril's Seabed Sentry platform. Sea Spear consistently detected, tracked, and classified medium- and large-diameter UUVs in a realistic port protection scenario. The system transmitted track data to undersea command centers and integrated with Anduril's Lattice battle management platform, which fed the Navy's cUxV command-and-control system. This enabled an operator-free alert chain from detection to alert, visible in real-time to Navy operators. The exercise, involving Australia, the UK, and the US, validated the system's ability to provide persistent acoustic sensing at maritime choke points and critical infrastructure. The partnership aims to accelerate deployment of scalable, distributed autonomous undersea surveillance networks for covert anti-submarine warfare and maritime defense missions.
