Ukrainian Air Defense Neutralizes Anti-Ship Missile and 130 Russian Drones

The Ukrainian Air Force reported that its defense forces successfully intercepted one Kh-35 anti-ship missile and 130 drones during a massive Russian attack launched on the evening of May 14, 2026. The assault involved five Kh-31P anti-radar missiles, one anti-ship missile, and 141 various combat and decoy UAVs, including Shahed, Gerbera, and Italmas types, fired from multiple directions including the Black Sea, occupied Crimea, and several Russian regions. While five anti-radar missiles failed to reach their targets, seven combat UAVs struck six locations, causing significant damage. Preliminary data indicates that debris from downed targets was found at seven sites across northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine. The attack is part of a broader offensive that previously targeted Kyiv, resulting in confirmed casualties and destruction of residential buildings. As of the morning of May 15, the air raid alert remained active with enemy UAVs still present in the airspace. Ukrainian defenses utilized aviation, anti-aircraft systems, electronic warfare, and mobile fire groups to repel the majority of the incoming threats, mitigating further potential damage to critical infrastructure and civilian areas.
