Ukraine's Drone War in the Sea of Azov Cripples Russian Shipping, Raises Global Food Crisis Risk
Ukraine is increasingly dominating the Sea of Azov and Black Sea with unmanned naval drones, turning the region into a graveyard for Russian ships. Recent operations include a Barracuda drone strike near occupied Zaliznyi Port, a Mamai drone attack on the Russian shadow fleet tanker Avero near Novorossiysk, and a Sargan-3000 drone strike that destroyed the Russian patrol vessel Emerald near Gelendzhik, close to a compound linked to Vladimir Putin. Ukraine's Operation Molochka has recorded 183 strikes. The blockade is driving up global wheat and fuel prices, echoing the Strait of Hormuz crisis, and threatens a new global food crisis. Analysts predict further escalation, including potential strikes on the Crimean Bridge.
