While Young asserted there was no acrimony with the Trump family and intended to proceed with the development under a different name, reports indicate Altus has faced previous bankruptcy issues. Gold Coast Mayor Tom Tate suggested the collapse was ultimately driven by disagreements over profit margins rather than political factors.
