Stocks Just Topped Crypto on Hyperliquid. ARK Says That Changes Everything

For the first time, trading volume from real-world assets (RWAs) such as tokenized stocks and commodities surpassed crypto volume on the Hyperliquid decentralized exchange. ARK Invest's director of digital assets research, Lorenzo Valente, announced the milestone, noting that RWAs accounted for 54% of Hyperliquid's $50 billion weekly volume. The shift is driven by HIP-3, a framework launched in October 2025 that allows external teams to create perpetual markets for traditional assets. Single-stock perpetuals now make up 61% of RWA trading, with SK Hynix as the most-traded stock. Valente suggested that dedicated RWA platforms may emerge, and that crypto-only traders may be focusing on the wrong market.
