Senate Advances Jay Clayton Nomination for Intelligence Chief

The Senate on Monday night voted 51-43 to advance the nomination of Jay Clayton to lead the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), clearing a key procedural hurdle. The vote sets up a final confirmation vote as early as Tuesday night. Clayton, a former SEC chairman under President Trump, is the nominee to oversee the U.S. intelligence community.
