Russian Drone Strikes Kill Woman, Injure Two in Kherson; UN Vehicles Damaged

On May 14, 2026, Russian forces executed multiple drone strikes against the city of Kherson, resulting in one fatality and two injuries while also damaging vehicles belonging to a United Nations humanitarian mission. According to Oleksandr Prokudin, Head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, a woman was killed in the Korabelnyi district around 10:00 AM due to fatal injuries from an enemy UAV strike. Earlier that morning, at approximately 08:20 AM, a 66-year-old man in the same district suffered concussions, shrapnel wounds, and head injuries, leaving him in moderate condition. Additionally, a 69-year-old woman was injured in the Dniprovskyi district around 07:30 AM, sustaining similar blast-related injuries. The attacks also targeted cars operated by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, causing significant damage. While casualties among UN staff are being confirmed, the incident underscores the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region. Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has subsequently urged the international community to take urgent action to protect civilians in occupied areas, citing violations of international humanitarian law by Russian occupying forces.
