Carlos also expressed nostalgia for his hometown club São João Union, where his nephew plays, hoping to leverage his influence for sponsorships. Inter de Limeira, founded in 1913, had a golden era in the 1980s, winning the São Paulo state league in 1986 and the Brazilian second division in 1988. The team currently leads the Serie C standings.
