Rani Khedira Named in Tunisia's World Cup Squad
Union Berlin midfielder Rani Khedira has been officially selected for Tunisia's 26-man squad for the upcoming World Cup, as announced by coach Sabri Lamouchi. Khedira is one of three players from the German Bundesliga included in the roster, joining Augsburg's Ismael Gharbi and Eintracht Frankfurt's Ellyes Skhiri. Additionally, Elias Saad from second-division club Hannover has also been called up. This selection marks a significant milestone for Khedira, who recently switched his international allegiance from Germany to Tunisia to pursue his dream of playing in the World Cup. The Stuttgart-born player made his debut for the Tunisian national team, known as the Eagles of Carthage, in late March. His inclusion adds notable experience to the squad, echoing the legacy of his brother, Sami Khedira, who won the 2014 World Cup with Germany. Tunisia is set to compete in Group F during the tournament in North America this June, facing tough opponents including Sweden, Japan, and the Netherlands.
