Quad to set up packaging plant in Salt Lake City, Utah
Quad/Graphics has announced plans to open a new 100,000-square-foot packaging manufacturing plant in Salt Lake City, Utah, expected to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2026. The facility will complement existing packaging operations in Spartanburg, South Carolina; Franklin, Wisconsin; and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The new plant will offer end-to-end packaging services and will be equipped with a Heidelberg XL 106 press with UV capabilities, a sheeter, die cutters, and folding gluers. The site has access to key interstate highways for fast distribution to major western US markets. Chairman and CEO Joel Quadracci described the expansion as part of Quad's long-term strategy to grow in high-value categories like packaging, while packaging division president Tim Ohnmacht noted the move brings the company closer to brands in high-growth markets such as food and beverage and health and wellness.
