Putin Replaces Governors of Two Border Regions Following Resignations

General Aleksandr Shuvaev, a veteran of the conflict in Ukraine, was named the interim head of Belgorod, while Egor Kovalciuk was appointed to lead Bryansk. Both appointees held preliminary meetings with Putin at the Kremlin before their installation. New gubernatorial elections are scheduled for September 20. This administrative reshuffle occurs alongside other significant developments, including the Russian Parliament's adoption of a law allowing the release of imprisoned citizens for military service abroad, subject to presidential approval.
