Both appointees held preliminary meetings with Putin at the Kremlin prior to their appointments. New gubernatorial elections are scheduled for September 20. This administrative reshuffle occurs alongside other significant developments, including the Russian Parliament's adoption of a law allowing the release of imprisoned citizens for military service abroad, subject to presidential approval.
