Olympiacos Signs Former Manchester City Goalkeeper Stefan Ortega
Greek Super League club Olympiacos officially announced the signing of German goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno on July 29. The 33-year-old, born in Hofgeismar, spent the second half of the previous season at Nottingham Forest, helping the team reach the Europa League semi-finals. Ortega previously played for Manchester City from summer 2022 to February 2026, making 56 appearances under Pep Guardiola and contributing to City's treble-winning 2022-2023 season with 14 appearances. He began his career at Arminia Bielefeld at age 15, making 220 appearances and helping the club gain promotion to the Bundesliga in 2020. The transfer marks a new chapter for the experienced goalkeeper in Greek football.
