NYCFC Acquire Forward Luighi Hanri Sousa Santos on Loan from Palmeiras

New York City FC (NYCFC) have acquired Brazilian forward Luighi Hanri Sousa Santos on loan from SE Palmeiras through the 2026 season, with an option to purchase at the end of the loan. The 20-year-old scored five goals and added one assist in 45 appearances across all competitions for Palmeiras over the past three seasons. This past season, he helped Palmeiras advance to the Round of 16 in the Copa do Brasil. NYCFC Sporting Director Todd Dunivant stated that Luighi adds attacking threat to the front line for the back half of the season. Luighi expressed happiness about joining NYCFC, calling it a great opportunity to develop and contribute to the team.
