Nottingham Forest Agrees Terms with Feyenoord Defender Givairo Read for €25 Million Transfer
Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that 20-year-old Feyenoord defender Givairo Read has reached a verbal agreement with Nottingham Forest on a five-season contract. The Premier League club made a third bid of €22 million on Sunday and is willing to increase the total offer to €25 million, which sources say should be sufficient to finalize the deal. Read, a Dutch youth international who joined Feyenoord on a free transfer from Volendam in 2023, is eager to move to England. His salary in England could increase to about four times his current amount, with his agent team agreeing on a package of €20 million in wages and bonuses until 2031. Feyenoord prefers Read to stay another season and is attempting to renegotiate and extend his contract until 2029, but the chances are uncertain. Nottingham Forest's new head coach Oliver Glasner, formerly of Crystal Palace, sees Read as a key piece for the club's competitive leap.
