MetaOptics to Deploy Direct Laser Writer at University of Arizona for U.S. Expansion
MetaOptics Ltd, a Singapore-based semiconductor optics company, announced an agreement to deploy its key metalens Direct Laser Writer (DLW) system at the University of Arizona's Center of Semiconductor Manufacturing. The deployment, expected to begin in 2027, is a critical step in the company's U.S. expansion strategy. The DLW will enable quick prototyping and small-volume production of metalens samples, supporting collaborative research under Dr. Krishna Muralidharan. It will also serve as a U.S. demonstration site for potential customers, distributors, and institutions. MetaOptics aims to leverage Arizona's growing semiconductor ecosystem to deepen industry partnerships and advance commercialization of its metalens technology for applications in silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, and integrated photonics.
