Matheus Mattara Renews with Famalicão Until 2031, Aims for First Team Breakthrough
Brazilian center-back Matheus Mattara has signed a contract extension with Portuguese club Famalicão, keeping him at the club until 2031. The 20-year-old joined Famalicão in 2024/25 from Brazilian youth sides São Paulo and Juventus-SP, initially playing for the under-19 team. He was promoted to the under-23s the following season, becoming a standout in the Liga Revelação and frequently training with the first team. Now participating in pre-season under coach Carlos Carvalhal, Mattara expressed gratitude for the renewal, calling it recognition of his progress. He aims to debut for the first team and establish himself in European football, citing mentorship from senior defenders Léo Realpe and Ibrahima Ba. The deal underscores Famalicão's investment in young talent from their academy.
