Maersk to open $100M fulfillment hub in Massachusetts
Maersk is set to open a $100 million, 617,000-square-foot fulfillment hub in Hopedale, Massachusetts, near Boston, in August 2026. The facility will serve a single undisclosed large-scale e-commerce customer and can process up to 330,000 units per day at peak capacity. The hub is equipped with conveyor and sortation technology co-designed with the customer. This investment supports Maersk's strategy to build an integrated logistics solution connecting transportation, warehousing, and fulfillment operations. The hub will focus on high-volume fulfillment and delivery across the Northeast, emphasizing speed, reliability, and scalability during peak demand. Maersk already operates similar fulfillment facilities in Greater Los Angeles, Savannah, Miami, Chicago, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
