Lenovo Launches World's First Laptop with Inkjet-Printed OLED Display
Lenovo has announced the Legion R9000P, the world's first laptop to feature an inkjet-printed (IJP) OLED display manufactured by TCL CSOT. The 16-inch panel offers a 240 Hz refresh rate and over 99% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. Unlike traditional vacuum thermal evaporation (VTE) OLEDs, IJP OLEDs are cheaper and simpler to produce, with higher yields and improved brightness, making them ideal for portable devices. TCL CSOT has been mass-producing 5.5-generation IJP OLEDs since 2024 and is building 8.6-generation production lines. MSI has also adopted the same panel for its Pro Max OLED 271UPJW12 monitor. The technology is expected to eventually reduce costs for OLED TVs, monitors, and smartphones, competing with QLED and Mini LED displays. Lenovo has not yet disclosed pricing or full specifications for the Legion R9000P.
