RB Leipzig Halts Willi Orban Transfer to Saudi Club After Koné Injury
German Sky Sports reports that RB Leipzig has canceled the planned transfer of center-back Willi Orban to Saudi club Al-Diriyah. Orban had agreed to a two-year contract worth $15 million net. However, after midfielder Abdou Koné suffered an injury, RB Leipzig sporting director Marcel Schäfer called off the deal. The medical examination scheduled for Monday morning was canceled, and the Saudi club's medical team, already in Leipzig, had to return. Orban will remain at RB Leipzig, continue as a core player under coach Martin Demichelis, and lead the team in the Champions League. His current contract runs until 2027.
