Her father, Andreas Dahlmeier, revealed that a recovery attempt by climber Thomas Huber and US alpinist Tad McCrea in September 2025 failed because the body was no longer findable due to danger after the accident. Huber described Laura's presence as an echo that should give everyone courage to live life. Dahlmeier was struck by falling rocks at 5,700 meters during descent and suffered fatal injuries.
