Jupiter Helicopters Delivered to Cyprus for 84 Squadron
Two Airbus H145 Jupiter HC Mk2 helicopters have been delivered to the UK's 84 Squadron in Cyprus under a £148 million Ministry of Defence programme. The aircraft, which replaced the retired Puma HC2, will perform emergency response, aerial firefighting, troop transport, medical evacuation, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions. The delivery is part of a six-helicopter contract that supports 250 UK jobs at Airbus in Oxford. Two additional aircraft are operated by the Army Air Corps in Brunei. The MOD states the programme went from contract to operational capability in two years, advancing the UK's Defence Rotary Wing Strategy to rationalize helicopter types and reduce costs. Officials praised the collaborative effort between the MOD and industry for delivering a modern, versatile capability at pace.
