Jack Draper to Miss US Open Main Draw, Must Qualify After Ranking Drop
Former British No. 1 Jack Draper, a 2024 US Open semi-finalist, will have to qualify for the 2026 US Open after missing the main draw due to a ranking drop to 147th. The 24-year-old has been sidelined by a recurring bone bruise in his left arm, which caused him to miss Wimbledon. He is set to return at the DC Open in Washington on July 27. Meanwhile, Arthur Fery, the new British men's No. 1, will make his US Open main draw debut after his Wimbledon semi-final run. Emma Raducanu (ranked 37th) and other British players including Cam Norrie, Jan Choinski, and Katie Boulter are also in the main draw. Two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka and Wimbledon winner Jannik Sinner lead the fields. The tournament begins August 30 live on Sky Sports.
