Ipswich Town Signs Winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City for €26.5 Million
Ipswich Town Football Club has announced the signing of 22-year-old Ghanaian winger Abdul Fatawu from Leicester City for a total transfer fee of €26.5 million. Fatawu has signed a five-year contract, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031. The attacker, who has 32 caps and three goals for Ghana, represented his country in all four matches of the 2026 World Cup. He previously played for Sporting CP in Portugal, featuring in the UEFA Champions League, and helped Leicester City gain promotion to the Premier League. In the 2025/26 season, he made 44 appearances for Leicester, scoring nine goals. Ipswich head coach Gary O'Neil praised Fatawu's physical and technical abilities, particularly his one-on-one dribbling. Fatawu will join his new teammates at a training camp in La Manga, Spain, this week.
