Freddy's Franchisee in Colorado and Wyoming Becomes Clean Hands Certified
A nine-location Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers franchise group serving Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming has become the first quick-service restaurant franchise group—and the first company—to achieve Clean Hands Certification. The certification introduces a five-part operational standard for public restroom handwashing: touch-free soap, touch-free faucet, warm water, hygienic hand drying, and hands-free exit. Unlike product certifications, this program evaluates the entire handwashing sequence as experienced by guests. The public can use the Clean Hands Certified app to recommend facilities and rate experiences, creating a feedback loop. The milestone will be celebrated on July 31, 2026, at the Timnath, Colorado location. Founder Tim Cromley emphasized that the certification treats handwashing as a measurable, maintainable operating standard across multiple locations.
