Former Leipzig Midfielder Kevin Kampl Leaves Football to Become a Farmer in Mallorca

Kevin Kampl, the 35-year-old Slovenian former RB Leipzig midfielder, terminated his contract with the club in January 2025 following the sudden death of his 51-year-old brother Seki in October 2024, and subsequently the death of his father. After 283 matches and two German Cup wins with Leipzig, Kampl has relocated to a finca (small farm) in Mallorca, Balearic Islands, where he now cultivates melons, watermelons, tomatoes, onions, peppers, and produces olive oil. He describes the calm and tranquility of Mallorca as beneficial for his family. Despite his new agricultural life, Kampl has not ruled out a future return to football, particularly to the RB Leipzig bench, to which he remains attached.
