Former JPMorgan Chase banker expands lurid sexual harassment, racism lawsuit
Chirayu Rana, a former JPMorgan Chase banker, has expanded his sexual harassment and racism lawsuit against the bank, adding new defendants and allegations. Rana, who is of Nepali descent, claims racism was ingrained in his all-white leveraged finance team, where he was subjected to degrading jokes and slurs. He also renews allegations that executive director Lorna Hajdini coerced him into sex as a condition for career advancement. The lawsuit, now filed in Manhattan federal court, adds managing directors Brandon Graffeo and Jon Wolter, and associate Kelly Crowe as defendants. Rana says his career has been destroyed and he has been blackballed from the industry. JPMorgan has previously stated the allegations are meritless, and Hajdini has countersued for defamation. The case is one of several recent controversies involving JPMorgan employees.
