Factorial Energy secures first commercial aerospace battery contract
Factorial Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:FAC) has received its first commercial order for battery cells in the aerospace industry, marking a milestone as it expands solid-state battery technology beyond automotive. The order, from an unnamed U.S. drone manufacturer, follows successful integration and flight testing of lithium-metal battery cells in an unmanned aircraft. Drone trials demonstrated a flight range improvement of over 30% compared to existing technology. CEO Siyu Huang noted the project went from design to purchase order in six months. The company expects additional aerospace opportunities and continues automotive work with Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis. Factorial's investors include major automakers and IQT, a U.S. national security-affiliated investor.
