Ekaterina Alexandrova collapses on court in WTA Memphis Tennis Classic
Ekaterina Alexandrova, the top seed at the WTA Memphis Tennis Classic, collapsed on court during the third set of her match against 16-year-old Kristina Liutova. The incident occurred in extreme heat of 34 degrees Celsius after nearly three hours of play. Alexandrova was trailing 5-4 in the final set and had to retire following a lengthy medical stoppage. Liutova, a qualifier, advanced to the Round of 16 where she will face American Maya Joint. The match was part of the WTA Tour event held in Memphis.
